kitchen pop-up by gunay rzazada
Friday, November 13 — Saturday, November 14, 2026
can a familiar scent or flavour take us back to a place we once called home? this autumn pop-up dinner is a journey through the landscapes of lankaran, azerbaijan, told through traditional talysh food, seasonal ingredients, and the memories they carry. it ends where so many memories of home begin: around a pot of talysh tea.
gunay rzazada is a cultural heritage practitioner from lankaran, a small town on the caspian coast, where she grew up between the sea and the ancient hyrcanian forests. since moving away, she has dealt with homesickness through art, storytelling, and now cooking. apparently, when you miss home too much, you start feeding other people.
her cooking is built on traditional talysh recipes, seasonal ingredients, herbs, and walnuts. autumn brings pumpkins and the earthy smell of the forest after rain. for now, food is her only way of returning home.
